We’re going back to the Sahara Desert in October 2017

Sahara retreat 2016

The 2016 group at the end of a week in the Sahara Desert.

Will You Join us in October 2017?

The desert is a great place to get back in touch with yourself.

My first trip to the Sahara in 2016 was like leaving the planet and coming back home at the same time. I was away from my cell phone, computer, business, family, everything. It was just me, the basic elements of nature, some sweet new friends, and a simple routine.

And it Was Medicine for Me

Just being off the grid for a week was wonderful. It had been a long time since I had done that.

But there’s something especially wonderful about being in the desert. The foreignness of it made me be extra present. And the challenges of it taught me not to depend even on my physical comfort to be peaceful.

We Are only Taking a few Participants, So Sign up Early

I will be co-hosting the workshop with Margot Diskin, a certified facilitator and friend of mine who has done this trip to the desert four times now.

Last year we were only ten, plus five Bedouin guides and ten camels. It will probably be about the same size group in 2017 too.

Margot and I both like the intimacy of a small group. We all get to know each other well, and get to work with everyone. By the end of the trip, we all felt like family.

You Must Have Experience Doing The Work Before you Come

This retreat is not for people who are brand new to The Work. If you want to participate, please prepare yourself by participating in Byron Katie’s School for The Work, or my online course, The Work 101.

If you’re not sure if you have enough experience, please contact me and I’ll be happy to discuss it with you.
There’s Plenty of Time to Save up for the Trip

The retreat is still a good 10 months away. I personally love to save up for things, and I encourage you to do the same. The cost for the retreat is €1600 euros + travel expenses from your home to Djerba, Tunisia.

You can reserve a spot today with a deposit of €900. Or you can to set up a payment plan to make smaller payments over the next ten months. Let me know either way, and I’ll be happy to explore the options with you.

If You’re up for an Adventure, I’d Love to Have you Join Us

I think you’ll find this adventure takes place on the inner landscape as much as it does on the incredible sand dunes of the Sahara Desert.

And when you return, you may find, like me, that things look differently after this week-long change of perspective.

And you may also find that the sands of the Sahara will keep falling out of your pockets for months to come. 🙂

Have a great weekend,
Todd

“I used to spend a lot of time in the desert. I would just walk, with no destination. I would walk straight, even if the path turned right or left, because I understood that there was no way to be lost. I often didn’t know where I was or how to get back to familiar ground. But I was living with the certainty that wherever I was, that’s where I was supposed to be at that moment.” Byron Katie, A Thousand Names for Joy
