One Way to Become Self-Sufficient in The Work

I Frequently Have People Leave Inquiry Circle

In fact, just last week, I had two people tell me that they wouldn’t be continuing with Steady Pace Inquiry or Self-Paced Inquiry.

A part of me still gets a little disappointed to lose a participant. But that’s mainly because of my own financial attachments (something I continue to work on).

But when I look at why they left, I get quite excited.

Both Participants Told Me The Same Thing When They Left

They told me that they now feel comfortable doing The Work on their own.

This is very good news to me!

This is one of the main reasons I created Inquiry Circle. Each of the three programs in Inquiry Circle (Slow-Cook Inquiry, Steady Pace Inquiry and Self-Paced Inquiry) was created as a hybrid between working alone and working with others.

These Programs Culture Self-Sufficiency in The Work

Here’s how it works.

When you join Steady Pace Inquiry, for example, you join a group of people who want to do The Work every day. This group becomes a support system for you to keep showing up and doing your work.

But you still have to type in your work each day on your own. There’s no one facilitating you. It’s different from a phone call. It’s just you typing your answers.

Over Time, Two Things Tend to Happen

1) You get into the habit of doing The Work every day. Many people find a niche time of day. For me, it’s first thing in the morning, and participating in Inquiry Circle has made that a routine for me.

2) You gain confidence in being able to facilitate yourself in written form. This means being able to hold yourself in inquiry even when you’re stressed. Then you can leave the forum and yet continue doing The Work in written form on your own.

For me that experience spells F-R-E-E-D-O-M. No dependence on anyone. Not even an online group. Then you can literally take a pencil and paper anywhere and set yourself free.

If you’d like to culture self-sufficiency in doing The Work, I invite you to participate in one of the Inquiry Circle forums: Inquiry Circle $20/month, Steady Pace Inquiry $50/month, Self-Paced Inquiry $100/month. Next entry is June 25.

Have a great weekend,
Todd
