Are You Discrediting Your Answers as “Obvious”?

You may have seen these flowers a thousand times, but have you ever really seen them?

It’s Easy to Discredit Your Own Work

The mind can sometimes try to trick you out of the insights you find when doing The Work.

One way it does this is to judge the insights you find as “obvious.” “Oh, of course I should listen to him. That’s no big deal. I already knew that. See, I shouldn’t waste time doing The Work.”

But if I Already Knew That, Why Am I Getting Triggered By It?

The problem is that there are different levels of knowing something. I can know it, yet still not know it. I can know it yet not grok it fully. To “grok” means to really get it.

The Work is about grokking, not just understanding. I know I really get it when the understanding becomes a part of my muscles. Then I don’t have to think about it. I don’t have to be spiritual, I just naturally act that way.

The Work Is About Being Spiritual In the Most Challenging Situations

It’s easy to be clear when you’re attending a seminar, or reading a book, or watching life from a distance. But can you be clear when someone is shouting at you?

That’s what The Work is about. It’s about finding your clarity even when you’re faced with your most challenging situations.

So don’t be too quick to discredit your findings when you do The Work as being “obvious.” The insights you find may be obvious to 99% of your mind, but they are not obvious to the 1% of you that got triggered.

I invite you to allow that 1% to finally get its education. Allow it to catch up with the rest of you that already gets it. You can’t fully grok it until 100% of you is clear.

Have a great weekend,
Todd
