A Little Rest Goes a Long Way

Nature knows how to rest.

One Simple Insight This Week

I don’t have anything to say this week except this: rest is as important as The Work.

I planned a week off last week to go into some deeper work. But I found out very quickly that what my body and mind needed was not more work, but rest. 

So reluctantly, I gave it to myself. Instead of doing The Work all week the way I thought I would, I slept and did more hours of my deeply restful Transcendental Meditation. 

It was just what I needed. Even The Work cannot go very far if the mind is exhausted. There is a time for making subtle discoveries with The Work, and there is a time for just doing nothing. This was my time to do nothing at all, and I feel much better.
