Participant Shares Slow-Cook Inquiry Experience

This client has been participating for two years in the Slow-Cook Inquiry program. Slow-Cook Inquiry is a password-protected forum where we practice The Work of Byron Katie five days a week for 10-15 minutes per day.

To protect her anonymity, I’m using only her online pseudonym, Netsirk. She has given me permission to share this with you.

She writes, “I want to say thank you to all of you and this space as it has catapulted My Work! Slowcooker has helped me so much over the past couple of years. I have dealt with some heavy topics that I never thought I’d get past. I knew I’d eventually do the work on them, and dabble, then maybe one day I’d have some great insight.

“What I didn’t expect was for Slowcooker to get me in the daily habit of doing The Work. It was instant relief! I would feel immediately better about an issue. I’d have turnarounds that I could carry with me through the day so if something happened I’d remember my list of examples. It was so reassuring to tick off a list of other truths that actually felt more true than my original belief. I still carry this practice with me throughout my day.

“I have done the Work in the Slowcooker on being sexually harassed by a male coworker, my unhelpful boss, lazy or overbearing coworkers, friends not doing what I want, complicated relationships with men, my uncle not taking good care of my sick aunt, my brother living with my mother, my mother allowing my brother to live with her, not making enough money, and on and on.

“And honestly thanks to Slowcooker none of that has ever really happened! LOL! I truly see that now. It was hard to even write that because I didn’t believe one word!! ROFL!

“Thank you all! I truly look forward to continuing this journey with you all questioning my beliefs. xoxoxoxox <3 {} MHOTY “Favorite quote: I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened. — Mark Twain” If you think Slow-Cook Inquiry might be a good match for you, read more about it here.
