Do You Need A Jump?

I remember the bitter cold winters of Iowa where I grew up. At 6:15 every morning, I’d be outside scraping the window on my old Ford van. Swim practice started at 6:30 no matter how much snow had fallen the night before.

But I made it every day.

On the prairies, winter never has the strength to stop you. Even a dead battery was no excuse for us. You can always get a jump.

Does Your Battery Need A Jump?

You may be reading about The Work and getting more and more familiar with it. Or you may be doing it. But chances are, life gets busy, and overtakes your best intentions to do The Work, no matter how much you like it.

That’s when you need a jump start.

A Jump Start?

Yes, an opportunity to do The Work outside of your regular environment. I’m talking about a retreat. And if you’re ready for one, you’re in luck. I’m offering a two-day retreat in Big Bear Mountain, CA, on June 8-10, 2012.

This will be a chance to catch-up on rest. And to go deep into The Work for a weekend. We’ll be staying in a log cabin, in the mountains, away from it all. And what you’ll get is a chance to focus deeply on your own process of self-inquiry. And to learn from others who are doing it.

This Can Serve To Get You Going Again

If your momentum got lost, a retreat like this can get you moving once again. And if you’re new to The Work, it’s a chance to get some solid practice under your belt.

I will be teaming up with Aileen Cheatham to lead the workshop. Aileen is an experienced facilitator, and a dear friend. I think you will enjoy working with her.

But What’s Unique About This Retreat?

This retreat is different than any other retreats offered in the world of The Work. What’s different is that we serve homemade Ayurvedic food. And we don’t just serve this delicious vegetarian food, but we will show you how to cook it, and we’ll give you recipes to take home.

So you’ll not only get a chance to rest, and do lots of The Work, you’ll also be learning some very tasty, and very healthy dishes to cook at home.

Just like Iowa, at this retreat we’re all here to give each other a jump. No matter how deep the snow may be.

Todd Smith has been doing The Work of Byron Katie on an almost daily basis since 2007. He is just as excited about this simple process of self-inquiry today as he was when he first came across it. He also enjoys writing about The Work, and training others in the subtleties of this meditative process.
