My experience with the “Dealing with Grief” workshop

The beautiful rustic setting of southern Austria was perfect for diving inward last week.

A Deep Dive

As I type this, I am on my way home from Austria after the “Dealing with Grief” workshop there. I take with me a new openness and depth and expansion of consciousness.

There was something about sitting together with the 14 of us day after day as we did our work that opened this new depth of awareness in me. It happened gradually, and matured with each day.

It came with plenty of inner shaking as I found the courage to expose my innermost stressful thoughts to the light of inquiry. So many of those stressful beliefs fell by the wayside as I did my work, and it left me feeling lighter and clearer and free.

And It Was Not Just Me

As I read through the feedback from participants, I saw how consistently participants remarked about this experience of depth and peace and love from working together. And so many people reported decades-long stories of grief falling away.

Words cannot describe it well. So won’t try any more.

But I can say that I originally thought the “Dealing with Grief” workshop would be a “one-off.” Now I’m thinking about when and where I will be doing this workshop again.

“There is no thought or situation that you can’t put up against inquiry. Every thought, every person, every apparent problem is here for the sake of your freedom. When you experience anything as separate or unacceptable, inquiry can bring you back to the peace you felt before you believed that thought.” Byron Katie, Loving What Is
