For me, The Work Works

I have been doing The Work pretty much every day since January 1, 2007. I’ve done a lot of worksheets and questioned a lot of stressful thoughts.

And every time I do The Work, I’m amazed to watch my stories loosen and often fall away. Countless issues have evaporated completely through my work.

But I wouldn’t have this experience if I had just read Byron Katie’s book, Loving What Is, in 2006 and thought, “That’s really cool,” and moved on.

It Was Making The Work a Practice That Changed My Life

Steady practice allows me to chip away slowly at a worksheet over time. It allows me to continue to work situations that come up regularly. It allows me to deepen my practice over time.

There is a momentum that gets built up with regular practice. It’s like I have an inquiry machine that chews up whatever life brings up for me. Every day, another piece gets worked.

And it gives a real feeling that I can handle anything.

Also, I don’t have to make time to do The Work when a crisis hits, that time is already built into my day, just like eating and sleeping and brushing my teeth. All I have to do is keep showing up, and my work keeps getting done.

I Would Love for You to Experience This Too

That’s why I offer several different ongoing practice groups for doing The Work. You may have heard of Slow-Cook Inquiry, Steady Pace Inquiry, Self-Paced Inquiry, and the Partner-Pairing Program.

Each of these programs is designed to support you in doing your work on an ongoing basis with other people. I’ve been running some of these programs for 3-4 years and many participants report a lot of freedom through them. This is also where I do my work on an ongoing basis.

If you’re interested, I highly recommend trying one of these ongoing programs to support yourself in making The Work an ongoing practice.

Now Scholarships Are Available for Those Who Need Them

If you want to participate in one of these programs, and can’t afford to, please email me directly to apply for a scholarship. I will consider each application carefully.

Money should not be a reason not to participate. There may be other reasons why you may not want to participate but, if it’s only money that is stopping you, please apply for a scholarship today.

And if you can afford the ongoing fees, thank you for continuing to support the program in this way. Your ongoing payments are what allow me to offer financial aid to those who can’t afford it.

Have a great weekend,
Todd

“People can take inquiry home with them; they can have it for breakfast every day. This deletes me as the power, and leaves me as something more powerful: an equal, an equal possibility of peace, the student sitting with the student.” Byron Katie, A Thousand Names for Joy
