Is There a Person Behind Your Stress?

Are you angry at the gunship or at the king who sent it?

Last Week I Wanted to Write a Worksheet

I started out thinking to write a worksheet on “life” for giving me too much to do. I’ve been frustrated recently because I’ve been juggling too much.

Then I thought, actually I should write a worksheet on my business. Since most of my extra work is coming from my business. I know I could write a good worksheet on that.

But I Found an Even Cooler Angle

I wrote the worksheet during a session of the Two-Hour Taste of The Work when Susan Vielguth was facilitating. As she led us through filling out a worksheet, she invited us to find a person who was stressing us.

I was all set to write about my business, but decided to follow her direction and look for a person.

Sure enough I found one. As I looked at all the pressure I was feeling, I realized that I was secretly blaming a friend that I plan my business with.

Once I Saw it, the Worksheet Pretty Much Wrote Itself

My line one became, “I am afraid of him because he expects me to accomplish three big goals this year.”

And as I questioned what I wrote, I found that it wasn’t true. Sure, we do plan three things to accomplish every year. And it is quite helpful. But my mind was exaggerating the bigness of the goals. I turned three goals into three big goals. Huge, enormous, life-changing goals.

No wonder I was feeling pressured and stressed.

It Helped to Focus on a Person

Because it helped me get to the real reason why I was feeling frustrated. I was more focused on impressing my friend than on being true to me.

If you want to listen to my work, you can get copy of the recording here $9.99.

Have a great weekend,
